Favorite of the Month: Mind of My Mind (Patternmaster #2) by Octavia E. Butler (because the heroine rocks).
Least Favorite of the Month: The Rule of Luck: A Science Fiction Romance by Catherine Cerveny, because the characters annoyed me.
Most Interesting of the Month (or Book I Learned the Most From): I think this one also goes to Mind of My Mind- it's the only book that really made me think this month.

Planning to Read in August:
Magic Binds (Kate Daniels #9) by Ilona Andrews
Expected Publication: September 20th 2016
I was very surprised I got this on NetGalley after requesting, but I'm super excited as well. The Kate Daniels series is my favorite urban fantasy series ever- something about a snarky heroine with a sword just makes me cheer.
I've also been reading Oryx and Crake (MaddAddam #1) by Margaret Atwood for my Sci-fi Challenge (see above), since it's ebook version and ebooks have been easier for me to read lately (it's hard to tote around an armful of books and support yourself with a cane, or so I've learned).
I am sorry to hear your visit to Montana wasn't better. Are you finding any relief? I hope so. Way to go on getting a copy of Magic Binds through NetGalley! I hope you enjoy it. :-) I'm not there yet, and so didn't request it. It's not a series I want to read out of order.
ReplyDeleteI hope youh have a great August!
Nope, I haven't had any let up on the trouble walking yet. It isn't really painful physically, but it's hard on me mentally. I think the best thing about my Montana trip was to see how well my grandma looks. The Kate Daniels series would be hard to read out of order- there's so many new characters in each book that you get to know. Thanks- I hope your August is awesome for you, too! :)

Hope you are feeling better! The next Sunday Fun Five sounds interesting. I had a battle with my hardcover of The Dream Thieves last week because I couldn't get comfortable and I finally gave up and bought the ebook. Heh heh. Have a stellar August. :)
ReplyDeleteThose darn physical books! They look so easy to read, but sometimes they just aren't. I'm still hanging in there, which is all I can do at this point. I hope you have a fantastic August as well! :)
