Between my birthday (July 6th) and all the other random things I have to deal with in my life, blogging tends to get relegated to the figurative backburner. Therefore, this month in review is a little bit on the late side, but still worth writing (for the sake of my own sanity- I am having trouble recalling which books I read in June already).

Favorite of the Month: Tie between Memories of Ash and Age of Myth (there were other 4 star ratings, but something about those was just a cut above).
Least Favorite of the Month: I didn't like Corelli's Mandolin as much as the others, but it was still a great read.
Most Interesting of the Month (or Book I Learned the Most From): Wild Seed by Octavia E. Butler- I think all her books are just fascinating.

Planning to Read in July:
I will be attempting to read more sci-fi for Rachelle's challenge, but I also have some other books coming in (another Better World Books box for me) that I want to read soon. So far this month I've been in a few fits of pain (as in I can't do as much, which is depressing), but I did manage to read a fluffy historical romance novella, so perhaps there's hope for me after all. If you're wondering which sci-fi books I plan on reading during the challenge, check out my "I'm Joining the Sci-Fi Summer Reading Challenge- Fashionably Late!" post.

I have possible reviews for Memories of Ash and Wild Seed in the works, though with my meandering mind, who knows if I'll get them done.7/17: Sunday Fun Five #58: The 5 Literary Villains You'd Like to Read an Entire Book About
I have a few villains in mind, though it will be a challenge to come up with the rest. There may be some unexpected additions in this one.
Happy July!
Happy belated birthday! I wish Twitter was like Facebook in letting us know when somone is having a birthday. You never know on Twitter unless you happen to have gone to the person's profile page and see the balloons. I am really looking forward to your book villain post! I only read five books last month, too. Four different and one re-read of Memories Of Ash. I hope now that I am on vacation I can double that. I hope your July is going well. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks La La- it's probably good Twitter doesn't have b-day notifications, since you'd probably get a flood of spambot messages on your birthday (Happy Birthday- here's a gift- the *free* first two chapters of my book!). I actually did not know Twitter put balloons on your profile for your birthday- I wonder if I actually used my correct birthday or not.
DeleteI'm hoping my reading will increase too, now that my mom's more independent. I hope your July goes well, too!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting, La La!

Happy belated birthday, Litha!! I hope you had a wonderful day :) It looks like you have a pretty good reading month this month with more 4 star ratings than 3 or below! Have a lovely rest of your July!

Thanks, Laura! I had a pretty good day. And yes, I've had fairly good ratings lately- I DNFed some that didn't grab me, but the rest have been great. Hope your July is awesome as well!
