Month in Review for March 2016: That Went Fast!

Perhaps it was because I was busy cultivating/salivating over my minion army, but it seems like I didn't get a full month's worth out of March. I had plans (glorious plans) of a massive amount of reviews I was going to type up, along with studying for (and passing) my driver's permit test (long story- due to the fainting nature of my illness, I haven't been too confident about driving [you know, injury to others and all that], but generally I've never had fainting spells while sitting down, so I now feel I can drive). Anyhow, I feel a bit cheated that I didn't get all those glorious plans completed, and beyond that, my blogiversary snuck up on me like a thief in the night. I'll be celebrating it, but with none of the brilliant, themed fanfare of my first one.

Favorite of the Month: Both Royal Assassin and Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb were my favorites this month.
Least Favorite of the Month: One Scandalous Kiss (Accidental Heirs #1) by Christy Carlyle- I have a taste for some Regency romances, but once I start hearing Hot N Cold by Katy Perry, they've lost me. That was what happened in this book's case.
Most Interesting of the Month (or Book I Learned the Most From): Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence by Doris Pilkington ~ Nugi Garimara- even having watched the film version, I didn't glean nearly as much from that as I did this book.

Planning to Read in April:

Very exciting things, like...

The Driver's Manual for Idaho!

Upcoming Posts:

My Blogiversary Post (April 4th)
I will be having a giveaway, so make sure to stop by and throw in your hat during the month of April. My giveaway will be open internationally, with help from my new favorite online bookstore, Better World Books.

Erm... that's all I have planned right now. I'm just so excited to read the thrilling, technical details of The Driver's Manual for Idaho, and see how it stands up to the impossibly addictive Montana Driver's Manual.

Happy Reading!

  1. Getting your driver's license would be exciting!

    1. Yes, my mom is very excited. I will be her chauffeur (if all goes well) for the summer after she has a hip replacement. ;)
Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Heather!

  2. Happy April! My blogiversary always creeps up on me too such that I have never actually celebrated it because I never realize it's coming up until I'm already a month past it. :p

Congrats on the driving license, also!

    1. Those sneaky blogiversaries! I had so much planned for my first one that this one will seem a bit underwhelming (for me at least). Oh well... :)
Yes, hopefully I'll have my permit soon. Then I can try my hand at driving in real life.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Jenny!

  3. Again Congratulations on your blog anniversary! I am hitting your posts in reverse. The story of my life. Ha ha. I read my Twitter feed from the top down too. Maybe this is why life confuses me so. The dead author thing happens a lot to me lately. I was really excited when Dick King-Smith followed me on Twitter last year, and even posted about it on Facebook. Then I found out he died in 2011! I wonder how many people were having a silent chuckle about that. Heh heh. Hopefully they were as clueless as I was. I am sending good vibes for your mom's surgery. Two thumbs up for getting your drivers license!

    1. Thanks La La! I also had a dead author follow me (from the grave *dun dun dun*) on Twitter, but I knew he was dead since he was alive during the Victorian era. Twitter used to perplex me with its unlimited conversations (all going on at the same time) but I think I've got somewhat of a grasp on it now.
I'm hoping my zombie arm mends itself in time for my mom's surgery/driving lessons- a numb arm that can't grasp so well wouldn't be so useful when on the road.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
