The only truly exciting thing was when my book haul for Better World Books was shared by the company across their social media. George will soon need a chauffeur and bodyguards (maybe Torrie could fulfill that role), as his pictures are internet famous (his pic also got retweeted by Ilona Andrews, but that wasn't blog related, per say).

Back in December I was notified I won this in a giveaway on Goodreads. I was so excited because I've never 'won' anything from Goodreads before. I eagerly awaited the book's arrival, assuming it would arrive early February. I had given up on receiving it, but it came on the first of March. So, if you win something via Goodreads, expect to wait quite awhile to get it.
Anyway, this is magical realism, and Guiltless Reader's review convinced me to put it on my TBR, when I noticed it had a giveaway going on on Goodreads. I'm still excited to read it, although the wait was longer than I had anticipated.

There will likely be more "The Edge" series reviews, along with some others I've been putting off. I was very proud of myself in February when I managed to review both of my five star reads from December, and yet I still have books from December that I want to review that I haven't yet. In other words, expect the unexpected: who knows what I'll review (although the Edge novels I have rather clear thoughts for).
When Goodreads started emailing about giveaways for books we have shelved I thought it was wonderful, but because this means more people are entering now, I hardly ever win anything. I used to win a book or two every couple of months; now I win once every six months, and that is maybe. Ha ha. I am sorry your puppy wuppers were sick. I love when people use their pets as book haul models! I am not surprised yours was a hit. George looked like he was reading the titles of the books in the box! There is a three week book blogger motivation "extravaganza" starting next Wednesday, so that is one of the things I will be up to in March. I will be talking about it a little in my The Sunday Post and adding the link. :)
ReplyDeleteI've actually never won anything on Goodreads before, but I've entered maybe thirty to forty of their giveaways, so that's probably why.
DeleteLuckily both Keisha and Torrie recover quickly- I just freak out whenever something happens to them. For the most part, they've been healthier than the other dogs I've owned.
I should probably get in on more blogger challenges and such, but I look at all the work involved and think "That looks exhausting!". I know most bloggers are okay with you not participating every day, but the perfectionist in me rejects that notion- I must post, comment, and be around a lot to do those sorts of things. Year long challenges tend to be easier on my nerves- then I have plenty of time to procrastinate.

I'm sorry for your animal troubles. :-( My two got a clean bill of health in February, although my senior cat is still on his full regiment of medication. Poor little guy. I caught him playing with a cat toy the other day and was so excited. The old boy still has it in him. :-)

Those old cats and dogs are tricksters- my vet told me my shih-tzu (who, at the time, was 17) was likely blind and deaf. Somehow he chased a rabbit Torrie (who was 2 at the time) didn't even see. Not to mention catching every 'accidental' scrap dropping that Torrie missed.
